What To Expect

Linda’s own experience helping her son Doran to lead a normal life at 34 years, means that she understands and respects the journey other parents are making.

Linda set out to make Advance a safe, child friendly, calming, hospitable place, with a warm welcoming informal atmosphere in which parents could relax with their children and feel at home.

Our staff are also always kind, helpful and informative.

The first evaluation with Linda may take place either in the purpose built evaluation room or beside the soft play area so that your child can move about freely while you listen. We have child gates across the main doors and office area.

During the evaluation Linda is not only assessing the children’s breathing and chest structure as they lie or sit, but also as they move about reacting to their environment in different ways.

We have a parent’s room with tea, coffee, light cooking facilities and a fridge.

There is a Sainsbury with a cafe at the bottom of the road by the station less than 5 minutes away, an Aldi supermarket across the road and a Leisure Centre with cafe, a children’s playground , a recreation ground and a small park also just across the road about 3 minutes walk away.

After the first evaluation it is optional whether you bring your child to the training sessions, (where you will practise on our instructors who will work on you so that you know exactly how the pressures feel) but we will need to do re-evaluations every 6 months. (i.e. every other visit)

At the end of each course you will be refreshed and confident to practise all you have been taught – but you can e-mail or phone us as often as you feel between visits if you have a question however small.
