Sophie: ASD with scoliosis, poor motor co-ordination

Sophie: ASD with scoliosis, poor motor co-ordination (4 Visits)

I have been looking back through our reports and I noticed that we said that we would like to see Sophie being more aware and interested. More a part of the world rather than sitting back and I have to say it really has been a joy to see Sophie becoming so much more involved and interested. She is now so communicative that I now get bossed about.

As we look back over the photographs of Sophie we can see how far she has come in her overall development. Another area we hoped to see an improvement in was Sophie’s posture as she used to slump forward with rounded shoulders and a slight scoliosis of the spine. Now she puts us all to shame as she sits up so straight.

We have noticed that Sophie’s movements and walking are more co-ordinated and quicker. She now uses both hands together more than she did before.

She has become so willing and happy to have the exercises and I am always amazed by the fact that she knows exactly when to pass her hand over or what the next move is going to be…she helps me to help her.

We’d like to give a big thank you from us to all of you at the Advance Centre. Linda and her dedicated team have been able to bring about new developments in Sophie which we did not know were possible two years ago.

A big thank you from Sophie too. xx
